Special Needs Cat Consultant
Cat End-of-Life Doula and Senior/Medical Cat Behavior Consulting Services:
T Hamboyan Harrison is a certified cat behavior consultant and cat end-of-life doula. As a disabled and chronically ill person, T has a special interest in supporting care-givers of senior and chronically ill cats. T has had cats since their first cat at age 5, a semi-feral kitten named Oatmeal, and currently has a clowder of 4 cats, all of whom have chronic medical conditions. They have seen 9 of their cats through end-of-life and have also supported others through their cats’ end-of-life journeys.
Being disabled has shaped the way T interacts with cats: they encourage cats to cooperate with them through methods developed to foster trust and connection. They enjoy continuing education and are a regular attender at online cat behavior webinars and conferences. They also serve on the Board of Directors at Diabetic Cats in Need, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting low-income care- givers of diabetic cats. In addition, they are a dedicated cat volunteer at their local shelter.
T offers both Cat Behavior Consultant & Cat End-of-Life Doula services through “A Cat’s Purrspective, LLC”. T has certifications through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC): CCBC (Certified Cat Behavior Consultant) and ACSB-C (Associate Certified in Shelter Behavior – Cat), Shelter Behavior Affiliate (SBA); and is Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP). In February of 2023, T completed UVM’s Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate Program, to better serve their clients. T is also Director of Case Management at Diabetic Cats in Need
While T is based in Maryland, T offers virtual services and has worked with cat care-givers from Hawaii to Bulgaria. T would be honored to help support you and your cats!
