Hello there! My name is Downey. I am not sure how I got that name. Maybe it’s because I am sooooo soft!  I know they say I like to be groomed and that it helps make me soft, so maybe that is part of it. They also say that I am a love bug. I don’t understand that because I am not a bug, I am a cat! I am a small cat so I promise I won’t take up a lot of space, but if you let me I will fill up your heart with soft furry love!

I am also more like a kitten than a cat that is about 8 years old. When I saw that special vet person they said that I am in very good health and my teeth are in good shape. I guess that is an important thing, you know – the teeth; I know teeth are important for eating. The real reason I think that I am more like a kitten is that I really love to play. So I hope that the humans who come to adopt me will want to play! Playing is so much fun! Oh, and I like kids too and if you are just one person then I could live with you too, but don’t leave me alone all the time so that I get lonely, okay?

Does my beautiful tuxedo make me look very social? I am actually quite social and I get along with other cats, but I am also social with humans too. In fact, I love to curl up on your lap and watch television. It’s really kinda neat! I get to snuggle, get patted and watch all that stuff moving in the big frame! I will come to you though, okay? I don’t really care for being picked up. I don’t like it, makes me worry about losing one of my nine lives! It would be really great if I could just come pouncing over to see you and curl up, okay?
