The Cat Connection, through the Jones Partnership Fund and in collaboration with the First Parish Church in Waltham, is providing a grant program for spaying and neutering cats. An educational program will be given by Rachel Geller, Ed.D., a Certified Cat Behaviorist and Certified Humane Education Specialist, on the benefits of spay/neuter for your cat. The program will take place virtually, on Zoom, on June 17th at 4:00 pm. As part of the program, attendees can apply for vouchers to provide financial assistance to spay/neuter their cats. In Waltham, there are many homeless cats and barely half of these are cats are adopted. Tragically, the rest are euthanized, or left to live a sad existence on the streets. These are healthy, sweet cats who would have made loving companions, but there are more cats than homes. Spay/neuter is the only way to solve this problem. The Cat Connection is tasking a leadership role in Waltham in reducing the suffering and needless euthanization of cats, and is welcoming the community to this free, online event.
