Many of you have generously given your financial support to The Cat Connection for many years. Without you, it would have been impossible to provide the care our kittens and cats have received. With your contributions, we have helped 2,500 cats over 20 years! We are so grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to help save so many lives – and now we have the ability to help even more!
Since our inception in 2000, we’ve housed all our cats in private foster homes. In September of this year, we brought our first cat, Hunky Dory (pictured) into the shelter. He was a model resident, and adopted into his forever home in October!
We now have 11 cats in our shelter, and we’re not even at full capacity! The shelter will allow us to take in 3X more cats per year. We are grateful for this chance to rescue more cats than we could with only our wonderful foster homes to provide housing. The shelter ensures we can continuously rescue more kittens and cats throughout the year.
With a shelter comes more expenses. Our monthly expenses have more than doubled since opening the shelter due to rent, utilities, and shelter supplies since we have more cats to feed and vet. We’ve had many generous donations of food and litter. Medical bills continue to be our largest expense.
Meanwhile, we continue to provide for our foster cats, maintain our feral colonies, and support the less fortunate in our community. I hope we can count on you to help us to do that by responding to this appeal as generously as you can. Your gift, whether large or small, is fully tax-deductible, but more importantly, goes directly to the well being of our cats.
